What is the difference between Amazon S3 Cross-Region Replication (CRR) and S3 Same-Region Replication (SRR) and when would you choose each?

Amazon S3 Cross-Region Replication (CRR) replicates objects to a different AWS Region for disaster recovery and global user latency. Same-Region Replication (SRR) replicates within the same region for log aggregation and compliance. Both require versioning and replicate only new objects by default.
